About Karen
Karen is an author, novelist, book coach, editor and proofreader. Whether the words are her own or another’s, she takes great delight in distilling and enhancing expression until the message is bright and clear.
Karen writes fiction and non-fiction, but these days, mostly fiction. She writes contemporary stories about life, love, faith and family, set in various states of Australia. As an author she is loved for her warm and engaging style, while still delving into difficult topics with sensitivity and care for her readers. She celebrates connection and community, kindness and growth. Currently she is writing her second novel in the Paradise Cove Series and has been quietly scribbling down ideas for a few short stories and a third novel for publication in 2025. She also loves coaching beginning and emerging writers.
Karen is an indie author. Her books are self-published, and available from her website, and internationally. Her most recent book is Running Home. She is also the author of a memoir, Looking Back Moving Forward, and the Amazon best seller, A Grief Revealed. She lives in northern Tasmania, Australia, with her husband and various animals that were meant to make life a bit easier, but instead have created more work!
Apart from writing and coaching writers, Karen’s longest careers have been in nursing, teaching and counselling. She also, with her family, spent time overseas working for a not-for-profit organisation. While there two of their three daughters died in an accident that left its imprint on Karen’s life and writing. She volunteers her time to help grieving women find and navigate their way through the losses they are faced with. Her faith is her strength, and this is reflected in her writing.
